This opera, composed by Missy Mazzoli and Libretto by Royce Vavrek, is adapted from the short story by Karen Russell. The Zegner’s have come to Nebraska in search of their American Dream. The ‘new’ homestead act of 1862 says they can claim the land they have settled on as their own, as long as it has a glass window in it… Written for harmonicas and guitars among other instruments the Americana feel of this opera will knock your socks off!
