Our Viennese Extravaganza concerts include some of the greatest hits from Viennese light opera and operetta. Stunningly beautiful music by Johann Strauss II, Emerich Kalman, and Franz Lehar will be presented in a rare chance for the audience to hear these masterpieces in a small and intimate setting with chamber orchestra accompaniment. The Evergreen Chamber Orchestra will be featured in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus Overture and Lehar’s Merry Widow Overture. Vocal selections for tenor and soprano (and one piece for tenor and violin soloist) include Kalman’s Play Gypsy from Countess Maritza, Strauss’s Drinking Song and the Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus, and music from Lehar’s Merry Widow and Giuditta. The concert features two rising stars from Colorado; tenor Michael Hoffman, and soprano Nadya Hill.
